Perfect Day

Perfect Day

We’ve got all the ingredients for a perfect day – now all we need is you! Make sure you are there with us, arms waving!  A few months ago we asked you to tell us what your perfect day at T in the Park would be.  What a phenomenal response!  There were so many great answers that we couldn't choose just one!

The winner was Gillian Docherty with the following poem!

My perfect day at T in the Park would be...
Waking up from a long and restless night… the dreams I did have did lots to excite
Dreamt of a day full of music and beer and tents, of a day to kick back and memorise events
A day to have fun and party with friends, a day we all wish wouldn’t come to an end
Of number one hits and some right banging tunes then melodies, burgers and thousands of loons
Dressed up to the nines or in wet welly boots……….grungers, rockers and mods, we’re all in cahoots
No matter our taste and no matter our preference, it don’t matter at all, it makes no bit of difference
Coz here we are one, we’re all loving our bands and come rain or shine we continue to stand
But then a sad thought goes and enters my mind, All this joy was a dream – its too cruel to be kind
So go on T Lady – I’ve supported you well, for the last 6 years running I’ve been part of this swell
This year so unlucky after waiting for hours, on the phone and online almost climbing the towers
Please reward my wee poem, with 2 super free passes then we can sit back and relax and ‘clink clink’ our pint glasses

And runner up Kayleigh Wilson!

My perfect day at T would begin wakening up in the campsite with all my cronies starting the day with a trip to the catering vans for some tea (with the T bag left in) and grub to top up the energy levels. And after having our brekkie and building our excitement by pouring over what we're going to do for the day and which acts we're going to see we'd set off to the Be Chilled tent to pick up some supplies of good ol' Tennant's Lager to whet the pallet while we organise ourselves and get ready to hit the arena.

After a wee couple or 2 lagers and a sorry attempt at festival make-up, we'd get on the move for the beginning of our social, musical journey. Off we'd pop on the march to the hub of it all... passing our fellow campers as we go still buzzing about all the wonderful things we'll see and do for the day and eyeing up the talent as we pass.

My ideal T day would begin with the chilled out sounds of Radio 1 to smoothly start us off and wean us into to the day. Also a good look round the festival stalls and merchandise available to pick out some souvenirs to act as props for our fantastic weekend at Balado! Next stop is King Tut’s to have a nosey and hear some of the coolest acts of the year. Then it's off to the fairground to seek some thrills before the alcohol flows freely and the party begins.

The buzz of the rides would move us swiftly on for some refreshments, namely some great Scottish food washed down with some more Tennent’s lager and a few good laughs with the girls and strangers alike.

As evening falls the main stage is the place to be for some lively crowds and world renowned acts with us well built-up by now to start the dancing and great times. Before finally ending the night bouncing to some of the greatest DJ's on the planet in the Slam tent I'd stop off for a back rub at Healthy T to loosen those muscles for moving and shaking.

Then it's back to camp to see the day end at the onsite entertainment then off to our tents to finish our lager and reflect on how much fun we're going to have when we wake up the next day to start all over again... Bliss!

But we all know those best laid plans all organised and mapped out NEVER go to plan and that regardless of what happens at T, you're sure to have a perfect day EVERY DAY at T in the Park!
